Wellness Garage is proud to offer a fully funded, comprehensive, year-long, multi-disciplinary lifestyle medicine program to help RCMP members with weight loss, nutrition, fitness and lifestyle optimization.

This program really helped me out on much more than just getting to a healthier weight level. I received excellent care in regards to tailored exercises to address chronic injuries, support with healthy eating to address stomach problems  and help with mindfulness.  Going to Wellness Garage was one of the best things I could have done for my self-care

The Wellness Garage (WG) RCMP Weight Management Program is a year-long program designed to help you develop lifestyle habits to reach and maintain a healthy weight. 

Our goal at WG is to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to apply within the context of
your life.  At the end of your WG year-long program, we want you to be empowered to be the healthy person you want to be for life!


Our program is designed around an initial assessment that reviews your symptoms and core lifestyle behaviours across six pillars of health: 
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Sleep
  • Stress Tolerance
  • Relationships and 
  • Sense of Purpose.  
Based on your assessment, including lab work and DXA body composition scan, your program will be individualized to meet your needs- grounded in science and evidence based medicine.

We use a team-based approach that incorporates specialists in their fields to deliver a precision program that is specific for you. 

Think of the team as your Formula One pit crew, here to help you perform your best along your
Health Journey. 


Following your assessment, you will review your results with each specialist and a WG physician.  Your results are reported in a Comprehensive Lifestyle Medicine Plan  with interventions developed by your team to address lifestyle behaviours that are specific to you across the six pillars of health.  

Your program will focus on behavioural changes that are attainable and sustainable by you based upon your readiness to change and always includes your input.  

Our program is delivered both in-person and virtually, to allow you the most flexibility while getting the support that you need.

We have partnered with Legacies Health Centres to deliver the advanced fitness portion of the program.  You will get ten personal training sessions to help you take your fitness to the next level.

The personal training sessions can be done at any of the following Legacies locations:
  • White Rock/South Surrey
  • North Delta
  • South Burnaby
  • North Vancouver

Program Admission Criteria:

RCMP Members with the following are eligible for the program (with full funding):
  • BMI of 30 and over, or
  • A BMI of 27-30 with other risk factors such as high blood pressure, (pre)diabetes, anxiety etc.
  •  A referral from a family physician or medical specialist
    • A BMI of 30 (corresponds to a person standing 5"10 and weighing 210 lbs)
    • A BMI of 27 (corresponds to a person standing 5"10 and weighing 188 lbs)

Next Steps

The next steps are:
  • We will send you a questionnaire from our secure messaging system - your responses will help us determine if you qualify for the program.
  • We will then reach out for a brief 5-15 minute consultation to confirm your qualification and answer any questions that you might have.
  • We will submit a referral request to your family MD or provide you with a form to take to a walk-in clinic if you do not have a family MD
  • Once we have the letter from your family MD we will submit all the necessary paperwork to RCMP Health Services for approval.
  • The turn-around for approval is between 1-3 weeks.
